*義凈 Yi Jìng 635-713, the great traveler monk who went to India via the land Silk Road in 671 and returned to China 25 years later via the sea route, translated scriptures here on his return to China.
*王維 Wáng Wéi 699-759 studied here with 道光 Dàoguāng; 杜牧 Du Mu 803-852 lived nearby and the Japanese Monk 惠遠 HuiYuan visited in 842.
