Small boat on the water between Leizhou Peninsula and Hainan
Sending Zhang Sima Off to The South Seas
|
Du Fu 712-770
Ma Yuan forged to the southern extremities,
Carved his proclamation upon a terrace.
To these Imperial command in three halls,
Hundreds of barbarian tribes submit.
To wild huts laden with tropical scents,
In spring mist you sail away.
On the blue ocean
no one knows where,
or when
Heaven will send you back again...
