Notes:

Lanzhou, formerly known as Gold City because gold was mined here, sits
on the south side of the Yellow River with the Gaolanshan at its back and
facing the Baitashan across the river. The Hexi Zoulan, Hexi Corridor,
was opened in the Han Dynasty and Lanzhou then became an important
city on the Silk Road 絲綢之路. This view of Lanzhou is from the peak of Baitashan.
