On 青秀山 Qingxiushan, a twenty minute taxi ride from downtown Nanning, Guangxi Province. A new main hall is under construction in July, 2006. This temple is noted on all the tourist brochures, but it is not the oldest temple on Qingxiushan. That honor goes to the 水月庵 Shuiyuean, a nunnary first built in the Tang. I discovered the Shuiyuean by accident. It is not mentioned in the brochures of Qingxiushan.
