Very little is known about Tran Thi Lien. Even the dates of his birth and death are not certain. He lived during the Tran Dynasty 1225-1400 and was appointed as a judge by King Tran Nahn Tong 1258-1308, who, with his father King Tran Thanh Tong 1240-1290, successfully fought the Mongol invasions.This poem here on MountainSongs is his only known surviving poem. The photo is of the pool in the Lang Temple in Hanoi, which we think is the same temple he mentions in his poem.
