For Master Pu Ming of Anlang Temple

Tran Thi Kien 1260-1330
Seeking refuge in seclusion
no big deal,
Everyday practice at home
that's the ticket!
Just today
meditating like this,
Stop blaming
the Chaozhou codger
for your own problems!

Notes: Very little is known about the Vietnamese scholar-official Tran Thi Lien. Even the dates of his birth and death are not known. But he lived during the Tran Dynasty 1225-1400 and was appointed as a judge by King Tran Nahn Tong 1258-1308, who, with his father King Tran Thanh Tong 1240-1290, successfully fought of the Mongol invasions. His one poem here is his only known surviving poem.
