Seeing Off Recluse Wen to Huangshan,  to His Old Home On White Goose Peak         Li Bai 699-762 Huangshan, four thousand ren tall, Thirty two lotus peaks. Cinnabar crags crush granite pillars, Lotus and golden hibiscus blosoms. Once I scaled her towering summit, Below spied Tianmushan's pines. Traces still remain of Sylphs          who refined jade there                 sprouted wings and flew off. Now by chance I learn that         like Wen Boxue* you depart alone. You have gathered verse blossoms         on the Five Marchmonts, Scaled heights accomplished much. Now you leave         to rest of White Goose Peak, Thirstily drink from your cinnebar spring. When the wind howls I will come, With an adjustable hook and ladder truck. Go Go         east to Lingyang, Fly Fly          to the fragrant laurel crowd. Fording streams thirty or more, Over blue cliffs blocking the clear sky. Someday we shall meet again, Crossing the rainbow bridge.

Xiānrén liàn yù chù, Yǔhuà liú yú zōng. Yì wén Wēn Bóxuě, Dù wǎng jín xiāngféng. Cǎi Xiù cí Wǔyuè, Pānyán lì wàn zhòng. Guīxiū Báiéfēng, Kě yǐn dānshā jǐng. Fēng chuī wǒ shí lái, Yúnchē ěr dāng zhěng. Qù qù Língyáng dōng, Xíng xíng fāng guì cóng. Huí xī shíliù dù, Bì zhàng jìn qíngkōng. Tārì hái xiāng fǎng, Chéng qiáo niè cǎihóng.

Notes: *Wen Boxue, mentioned by Zhuang Zi as a wise scholar contemporary with Confucius. From the peak of Huangshan it is possible, on a clear day, to look down on neighboring Tianmushan, Heaven Eyes Mountain, to the east in Zhejiang Province.
