Climbing the Terrace of Guanyin and Looking at the City of Chang'an

Bai Juyi 772-846 Hundreds of houses, thousands of houses--like a great chess board. The twelve streets like a huge field planted with rows of cabbage. In the distance I see faint and small the torches of riders to Court, Like a single row of stars lying to the west of the Five Gates.
