Occasional Poem 10 of 10
        Su Manshu 1884-1918

For nine years
        I confronted the wall
                to realize emptiness,
Then grasping my staff
        I re-entered the dusty world
                and met you dear.
I'm just a useless clod
come to the end of the road,
It can't be helped.....
Someone else will play your koto.

Bénshi Shī Shíshōu (Shí)
Sū Mànshū 1884-1918

Jiǔ nián miànbì chéng kōng xiāng,
Chí xī guīlái huǐ wù qīng.
Wǒ bén fù rén jīn yǐyǐ,
Rèn tārén zuòyuè zhōng zhēng.

Translator: Dongbo 東波

Notes:
if Su Manshu walked by this Japanese inn in Gion today, he would surely wistfully regret his vows.
