Occasional Poem 5 of 10
        Su Manshu 1884-1918

In one tsubo room
        she brews bancha
                with her own hand,
Deep in talk
        the incense turns cold
                and tears start to fall.
How cruel of her mother,
To remind her
        of her fated path!

Bénshi Shī Shíshōu (Wǔ)
Sū Mànshū 1884-1918

Zhàng shì fānchá shǒu zì jiān,
Yǔ shēn xiǎng lěng tì shānrán.
Shēngshēn āmǔ wúqíng shèn,
Wéi xiàng mó yé xiàng sùyuán.
