Seasons Revolve, Four Stanzas (1)
|
Tao Yuanming 365-427
Steady steady the seasons revolve,
Majestic profound each fine morning.
Spring bossoms startle me,
Subtle words in eastern suburbs.
Mountains washed with lingering mist,
Cosmos dim under sinking skies.
A southerly breeze blows in,
As new sprouts take wing.

Xí wǒ chūn fú,
Báo yán dōngjiāo.
Shān dí yú ǎi,
Yǔ ài wēi xiāo.
Yǒu fēng zì nán,
Yì bǐ xīnmiáo.

Seasons revolve, already late spring. Spring clothes ready, nature calls. With only my shadow I set off with a happy heart.
Shíyùn yóu, mùxhūn yě. Chūn fú jì, yǐng wù sī; ǒuyǐng dú yóu, xīn kǎi jiāoxīn.
