Shiling Waterfall
Climbing Tiantaishan
|
Ge Xuan 164-244
Towering towering peak over peak,
White mists in alpine valleys.
I bow my head, watch the waterfall,
Raise my hands to blue sky in awe.
Stone bridge suspended above the falls,
Wind blown spray drifts down.
No longer can I see the world's dust,
From time to time cranes swoop by.

Gé Xuán 164-244
Gāo gāo shān shàng shān,
Shān zhōng bái yún jiān.
Pùbù dī tōu kān,
Qīngtiān jǔ shǒu luán.
Shíqiáo héng hǎi wài,
Fēng yǔ luò rénjiān.
Bù jiàn hóngchén kè,
Shíshí hè wǎng huán.

Notes: Today, 1,800 years later, you can experience you can see the very same Shiliang Falls that Ge Xuan visited. The spray still drifts down and washes away the world's dust! The only differences being that the two temples pearch nearby, the Zhong Fangguangsi beside the Shiliang and the Xia Fangguangsi below it.
