The Xuedaosi is located on Xuedoushan, halfway between Ningbo and Tiantaishan in Zhejiang province.The Chan monk Xuedou 980-1052, lived here and compiled the Blue Cliff Record, a famous collection of Chan (Zen) koans. The paper horses have been prepared for the shuilu ceremony. They will be burned in a bonfire tonight for the ancestors of the pilgrims.
