The 天清寺 Tiānqīngsì no longer exists. Its only vestige is a fascinating pagoda, the 繁塔 Buotǎ. (Locals in Kaifeng insist the correct pronuciation is 'Buota', not 'Fanta'. Buo is not a putonghua pronunciation. We do not know the reaon for this.) The Buota is a squat pagoda covered with unglazed tile figures pf Buddhas, apsara, musicians. It has a domed main hall on the base platform and another smaller hall with one window on the second level. There are a couple of wood benches here where one can meditate and enjoy the view. It is possible that it is a truncated remains of a much higher pagoda.
