On delicate bamboo 
        cane vines cling,
In chaotic wilderness 
        wild flowers sprout.
Stately trees 
        calm wind's force,
Water flows 
        over smooth moss 
                silently.
 
Shānjū Záshī
Yuán Hàowèn 1190-1257

Shòu Zhú téng Xéguà,
Yōu huācǎo luàn shēng.
Lín gāo fēng yǒu tài,
Tái huá shuǐ wú shēng.

Notes:
When the Mongols conquered the Jin (Jurchen) Dynasty, Yuan refused to serve in the new government and retired.
