Moon Over mountain Pass
|
Li Bai 699-762
Bright moon climbs over Tianshan,
Obscured by towering sea of clouds.
Constant winds blast from the antipodes,
Whistle past Jade Gate Barrier.
Like Han troops trapped on the Baideng road,
Barbarians now probe Qinghai Lake.
Always from every battlefield,
Butchered soldiers never return.
Defending troops gaze at desert horizon,
Thoughts of home on bitter faces.
In distant high towers tonight,
Women's sighs never cease.

Yóulái zhēng zhàn dì,
Bú jiàn yǒu rén huán.
Shùkè wàng biān sè,

Gāo lóu dāng cǐ yè,
Tànxī wèi yīng xián.
