Lingyinsi is Hanghzou's most famous surviving temple
On the autumn festival I pray for rain

On the autumn festival I pray for rain, then spend the
night at Lingyin Monastery together with the two
magistrates, Zhou and Xu
Su Shi 1036-1101
Daily a stack of a hundred files prevents any leisure,
Tonight I hear a single autumn leaf outside as I doze.
Snow and frost before my bed are moonlight entering my window,
Lute melodies on my pillow are a brook cascading over stones.
I’ve tasted my fill of the world’s bitter flavors,
As I get old the solitude of mountains suits me better.
It’s just my concern for farmers is still with me,
I arise to look at the Milky Way, which is ever more remote.
