On Winter’s Day, I go to Lone Hill to visit the two monks, Huiqin and Huisi

Su Shi 1036-1101 The sky threatens snow, clouds fill the lake, Towers loom and fade, are the mountains there? Rocks jut out from the clear water, you can count the fish, The deep woods is deserted, birds call back and forth. On Winter’s Day I do not go home to wife and children. I say I’m visiting monks, it’s really to enjoy myself. Where is it these monks live? Below Precious Cloud Hill the road twists and turns. Lone Hill is a lonely place, who would live there? But monks possess the Dao, they do not live alone. Windows of paper, roof of bamboo, yet it is perfectly warm, In coarse robes they sit and nap on reed meditation mats.

Làrì Yóu Gūshān Fǎng Huìqín Huìsī Sēng

Sū Shì 1036-1101 Tiān yù xuě, yún mǎn hú, Lóutái míngmiè shān yǒuwú. Shuǐ qīng shí chū yú kě shǔ, Lín shēn wú rén niǎo xiāng hū. Làrì bù guī duì qīnú, Míng xún Dàoren shí zì yú. Dàoren zhī jū zài hé xǔ? Bǎo yún shān qián lù pányū. Gūshān gūjué shuí kěn lú, Dàoren yǒu dào shān bù gū. Zhǐ chuāng zhú wū shēn zì nuǎn, Yōng hè zuò shuì yī tuán pú. Tiān hán lù yuǎn chóu púfū, Zhěng jiǎ cuī guī jí wèi bū. Chū shān huí wàng yún mù hé, Dàn jiàn yěhú pán fútú. Zī yóu dànbó huān yǒu yú, Dào jiā huǎngrú mèng qúqú. Zuò shī huǒjí zhuī wáng bū, Qīng jǐng yī shī hòu nán mó.
