I want to soar to blue heaven         grasp the bright moon, I draw my knife         slash at the river                 but the river flows ever faster! I propose a toast          to melt the pain                 but the pain                          just grows stronger. In this life         my hopes                 never realized, Tomorrow         with windblown hair                 I'll board my small skiff.

Lǐ Bó 699-762 Qì wǒ qùzhě! Zuórì zhī rì bùkě liú, Luàn wǒ xīzhě! Jīnrì zhī rì duō fányōu, Chāngfēng wànlǐ sòng qiū yàn. Duì cǐ kěyǐ hān gāo lóu, Pénglái wénzhāng jiàn ān gǔ, Zhōngjiān xiǎo xiè yòu qīng fā. Jù huái yìxìng zhuàng sī fēi! Yù shàng qīngtiān lǎn mīngyuè, Chōudāo duàn shuǐ shuǐ gèng liú! Jǔbēi xiāo chóu chóu gèng chóu. Rénshēng zài shì bù chènyi, Míngzhāo sànfà nòng piānzhōu.
