Grass

Bai Juyi (772-846) Lush, luxuriant, the grass grows, year after year, imperishable with the wild fires, green again in the spring wind, its fragrance reaching far into the ancient path, its verdant color touching on the ruined city... The grass full of regret, on my seeing off a friend!

Cǎo

Bái Jūyì772-846 Lí lí yuánshànɡ cǎo, Yísuì yì kū rónɡ. Yěhuǒ shāo bú jìn, Chūnfēnɡ chuī yòu shēnɡ. Yuǎn fānɡ qīn ɡǔdào, Qínɡ cuìjiē huānɡ chénɡ. Yòu sònɡ wánɡsūn qù, Qī qī mǎn bié qínɡ.

Notes: [大意]茂密的野草佈滿了原野，一年一度枯了又繁榮。野火燒也燒不盡，等到春風吹拂它又重新萌生。遠處的芳草蔓延到古道上，晴曰下一片翠綠連接到荒城腳下。今天又送朋友遠行，茂盛的草也滿懷離別的深情。
