Daodejing First Verse
        Laozi (500?)

The Way that can be proclamed, ain't the Way.
The Name that can be named, ain't the Name.
No Name is the source of Heaven and Earth.
Name is the Mother of all Things.
Resolutely avoid Desires,
Contemplate Subtle Mystery,
Resolutely cultivate Desires.
These two ways,
Harmonious yet different Names,
Harmonious yet called Subtle Mystery.
Subtle Mystery still more Opaque,
The gate to many Marvels!

Dàodéjīng Yīzhāng
Lǎozǐ (500?)

Dào kédào, fēi cháng Dào.
Míng kě míng, fēi cháng Míng.
Wú míng Tiāndì zhī shǐ.
Yǒu míng wànwù zhī mǔ.
Gù cháng wú yù,
Yǐ guān qí miào,
Chāng yǒu yù.
Cǐ liǎng zhě,
Tóng chū ér yì míng,
Tóng wèi zhī xuán.
Miào zhī yòu xuān,
Zhòng miào zhī mén!

Notes:
This, the first verse in the Daodejing, a bullshit translation....
