Leaving Xuzhou
|
Su Shi 1036-1101
Endless desolate wandering
infinite longing
We met by chance
now part hurriedly
Hand in hand with my love
Her tears scoop up fallen flowers
How long til the East Wind blows you back?
Spring always returns
Who can I share it with?
By the Sui Dyke April waters 'rongrong'
Carry returning wild geese
As I start for Wu country
A departing glance back at Peng Town
The clear Si River joins the Huai
A thousand tears!
I wish to send my love to you
But it can't float back
on the eastward river to Chu
