Gale Rising
        Liú Bāng (256-195 B C)

A gale wind rises
Xi!
Clouds scud by.
My might joins the four seas
Xi!
I come home.
How can I find brave warriors
Xi!
To protect my lands.

Dàfēnggē
Liú Bāng (256-195 B C)

Dàfēng qǐ xī yún fēi yáng,
Wēi jiā hǎi nèi guī gùxiāng.
Āndé měngshù xī shǒu sìfāng.

Notes:
When Liu Bang won the four year war to consolidate his control of China, he returned to his home near present Xuzhou, Jiangsu, and wrote this poem.
