Overnight At Flower Cloud Temple
|
Nguyen Trung Ngan 1289-1370
By chance I overnight at this temple,
Share a narrow bunk with a monk.
At dawn a stone spring spurts,
At night paper curtains
protect this mountain hermit.
Pine cones fall by the window,
Gibbons howl from the far river bank.
I wake to the striking of fish knocker,
Heavy rain scatters the flowers.
