For two days this boat, carrying a load of bamboo, came down the Lijiang-Guijiang with me from Yangshuo to Wuzhou. I became familiar with the family livng on it; mother, father and young boy as we passed each other several times, only to meet up again at the four dam locks. Now, one day after we arrived it sits at the confluence of the Gui and Xi Rivers in Wuzhou waiting to be unloaded.
