About 10km outside Liyou, and then down a 2km dirt road is the 玉女潭 Yunutan, Jade Beaty Pool, where Du Fu and others over the centuries have composed poems. When visiting these remote places today, one is always struck by the long distances people traveled in the days before there were modern vehicles. Even today visiting these places is not easy.
