A lovely wreck of a temple a few km outside Zhongdian in northern Yunnan Province. In early June, 2008, only one monk and half a dozen chickens in residence. The 大寶寺 Dàbǎosì, Ringha Temple, dates back at least 700 years; the temple was visited by the 5th Dalai Lama. The principal buildings were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution
