Temple of Confucius. Attractive waterfront area along the 秦淮河 Qinhaihe is where the Tang poet 劉禹錫 Liu Yuxi composed 'Wuyi Lane', **烏衣巷 Wūyīxiàng Black Gown Lane. Originally built during the Song Dynasty and is situated on the north bank of the **秦淮河 Qínhuáihé River. Today, the entire area around the temple consists of a series of tourist shops, snack bars, restaurants and entertainment arcades, decorated in Ming and Qing Dynasty style architecture.
