In 1743, during the reign of Yong Le, a giant bell was moved to it from the Wanshousi. The bell cast during the Yong Le period (1403-1424). The bell is 6.75 meters tall and weighs 46.5 tons! It is rung once a month at midnight and it is said the sound can be heard 50 km away.
