First built in the Ming Dynasty. Today only the Daxiangdian, remains from that period. The interior walls of this structure are covered with mural painted by court artists of the Ming.

It is located in the village of 模式口村 Moushikocun, on the southern flank of the small mountain, or hill, of 翠微山 Cuiweishan, Turquois Mountain. It was the first post station (駝鈴古道首驛 Tuoling Gudao Shouyi) on the road leading west from Beijing, call it the Silk Road if you will.
