When the great Daoist Master Qiu Chuji (Cahngchenzi) 1148-1227, returned from his arduous trip to meet Genghis Khan in what is now Afganistan, the Khan appointed him to head up all Daoist affairs in China. Qiu Chuji spent his remaining years here and died here.
