Quan Thanh temple in Hanoi, located at Thanh Nien Road and Quan Thanh Street, near Hanoi’s West and Truc Bach Lakes. Legend has it that the Temple existed in the south of the To Lich River in the period of Cao Bien, a proconsul of the Chinese Tang Dynasty, who built the citadel of Dai La around 866. After King Ly Thai To established the capital in 1010, the Temple was moved to the north-west of the capital. It is one of the “Thang Long Tu Tran” – four famous sacred temples of Hanoi, which also includes Bach Ma (White Horse), Voi Phuc (Kneeling Elephant) and Kim Lien, honouring the Gods who guard at four main directions of the ancient Thang Long Citadel. The Temple is dedicated to Saint Huyen Thien Tran Vu who guarded and administered the north of the country. That is why it is also known as the Tran Vu Temple. The Temple has a majestic three-door entrance, which was built on large stones with a bell tower on its top. 越 南 广 泛 流 传 对 真 武 帝 君 的 信 仰 。 真 武 帝 君 ， 即 玄 天 上 帝 。 中 国 的 宋 代 开 始 流 行 。 玄 天 上 帝 ， 受 到 宋 、 元 、 明 等 历 代 王 朝 的 封 诰 。 越 南 的 北 部 和 中 部 有 许 多 奉 祀 真 武 大 帝 的 宫 观 和 神 祠 。 河 内 市 区 北 部 的 西 湖 风 景 区 就 有 真 武 观 。 真 武 观 ， 又 称 镇 武 观 ， 也 称 龟 圣 祠 。 李 朝 以 后 ， 真 武 观 一 直 受 到 历 代 王 朝 的 尊 崇 。 民 间 传 说 ， 回 流 河 内 的 红 河 堤 防 常 被 狐 精 和 龟 蛇 破 坏 ， 祈 求 真 武 帝 君 就 可 以 降 伏 妖 精 ， 断 绝 灾 害 。 后 黎 朝 时 期 ， 越 南 科 举 制 度 逐 渐 完 善 ， 文 人 考 试 的 竞 争 十 分 激 烈 。 真 武 观 又 合 祀 文 昌 帝 君 。 自 1 6 世 纪 以 后 ， 在 都 城 考 试 的 考 生 大 多 在 同 一 真 武 观 中 祈 求 。 现 存 的 河 内 真 武 观 ， 面 对 龟 圣 路 ， 背 靠 西 湖 ， 风 景 优 美 ， 是 河 内 文 化 古 迹 合 旅 游 胜 地 。 正 殿 供 奉 真 武 大 帝 铜 像 ， 据 称 ， 像 高 3 . 4 6 米 ， 重 4 吨 。 此 铜 像 铸 造 于 后 黎 朝 熙 宗 永 治 二 年 （ 中 国 清 代 康 熙 十 六 年 ， 1 6 7 7 年 ） 。 铜 像 为 真 武 帝 君 坐 像 ，身 披 盔 甲 ， 左 手 握 手 印 ， 右 手 持 剑 ， 膝 下 有 龟 蛇 合 体 之 造 型 ， 神 态 威 武 狰 狞 。 据 传 ， 越 南 有 人 以 为 真 武 帝 君 是 秦 始 皇 时 的 将 军 黎 翁 仲 ， 民 间 称 为 " 黑 天 尊 " ， 有 驱 邪 的 功 能 。 越 南 各 王 朝 ， 在 越 南 北 方 ， 即 从 中 越边 境 至 红 河 流 域 一 带 ， 建 有 许 多 真 武 观, 这 些 真 武 祠 ， 大 多 建 在 从 中 国 进 入 越 南 北 方 的 路 上 ， 而 且 ， 其 真 武 像 大 多 面 朝 北 方 。
