The 指雲寺 Zhǐyúnsì sits on the south slope of a small mountain SW of Lishi Lake. This is the headquarters of the Gemageju sub-group of lamaism in the Naxi area. To the left of the temple near the stupa on the hill is a strangely shaped stone, called the 伏藏石 Fuzang Stone, looking like a cross between a camel and a hippopatamus. It is and is thought to be the stone behind which the Buddha hid scriptures thought to be unfit for telling ordinary people.
