Ezra Pound, born in Hailey, Idaho Territory, United States on October 30, 1885. Died in Venice, Italy, November 1, 1972. An American expatriate poet, critic and intellectual and facist was a major figure of the Modernist movement in the first half of the 20th century. Wth the help of Ernest Fenollosa, Pound 'translated' 19 poems from the Chinese which were published in his 1915 collection, Cathay.
