Xixiangchisi high above, morning after rain
Listening to the Monkeys and Thinking of the Old Cottage on the Er Shi Peaks
|
Cen Chen 715-770
New seems Omei's smoky green,
Washed by yesternight's wind rain.
On the creast of the peak the trees stand out, distinct;
Inverted, they seem planted in the autumn river below.
It is a long time ago since I left the Er Shi Mountains,
Because I coveted the official's "Five Bushels of Rice."
I cannot bear to hear the mourning monkeys;
This northern guest only wishes to let his let his tears flow.
