Presented To Wu Ziye

Su Shi 1036-1101 Presented to Wu Ziye on the occasion of his setting forth  into the homeless life along with a folding pillow screen  painted with a mountain landscape Towering and lofty are the mountains on this screen, Their sheer cliffs clearly hewn by Heaven itself. Who understands the Great Perfect Mirror Wisdom? It is as if the Heng Huo mountains had come in the door. The one I got it from was Elder Master Yue, The one who painted it was the Drunk Old Fellow. I have often wondered whether within this artist's breast, There was not an actual Cloud-Dream Lake? A thousand peaks lay in the palm of his hand, For him to use or not in a snap of the fingers, Although not all their summits and valleys are clear, It would be a pity to leave them to my children. This low-lying screen, although it twists and folds, Can still help keep you above the madding crowd. Your leaving home happened long before this day,  With the dharma waters you have cleansed your inperfections. Peacefully wandering, you walk the clouds and peaks, Sitting in meditation, willows sprout from your elbows. You can lose yourself in these purples and greens, Which will be your companions till your hair turns white!

Wú Zǐyě Jiāng Chūjiā Zèng Yǐ Shànshān Zhěnpíng

Sū Shì 1036-1101 Éé shàn zhōng shān, Juébì xìn tiān pǒu. Shuí zhī dà yuán jìng, Hénghuò rù hùyǒu. Dé zhī lǎo yuè shī, Huàzhě yī zuì sǒu. Cháng yí ruò rén xiōng， Zì yǒu yúnmèng sǒu. Qiān yán zài zhǎngwò， Yòng shě tán zhǐ jiǔ. Dī áng bú zì zhī， Hèn jì érnǚ shǒu. Duǎn píng suī qūzhé， Gāo zhěn xiè bēn zǒu. Chūjiā fēi jīn rì， Fǎ shuǐ xǐ wúgòu. Fú yóu yún shì qiào, Yàn zuò liǔ shēng zhǒu. Wàng huái zǐ cuì jiān， Xiāng yǔ dào bái shǒu.
