Samgha's Pagoda in Sizhou

Su Shi 1036-1101 Long ago I traveled south         and moored on the Bian. Headwinds blew three days;         sand pelted my face. The boatmen all urged me         to pray at this sacred pagoda; Before the incence finished burning,         the flags turned around. As we looked back in a moment, Long Bridge was out of sight. We got all the way to Tortoise hill before breakfast. The enlighteded man had no-mind: what is good or ill luck to him? I clunge to selfish interests, delighted to have them mete. Sowers want rain, reapers want clear skies, Favorable winds for men departing make those arriving complain. For every person's prayer to be answered, The fashioner would have to effect  a thousand changes a day. Today both my person and the world are insubstantial to me I persue nothing when I go nor crave anything when I come. Being able to proceed is my wish, but delay does not cause resentment. If I prayed each time I passed by, the god himself would grow tired. Tuizhi once said, "It stands three hundred feet high." But the tower Chengguan constructed has already disappeared. If a vulgar scholar may be permitted to defile cinnabar stairs, I shall take one look at the cloudy hills  encircling the lands of the Huai.

Sìzhōu Sēngjiā Tǎ

Sū Shì 1036-1101 Wǒ xī nán xíng zhōu xì biàn, Nì fēng sān rì shā chuī miàn. Zhōu rén gòng quàn zhù líng tǎ, Xiānghuǒ wèi shōu qí jiǎo zhuàn. Huítóu qǐnkè shī cháng qiáo, Què dǎo Guīshān wèi zhāo fàn. Zhìrén wúxīn hé hòubó, Wò zì huán xīn xīn suǒ biàn. Gēngtián yù yǔ yì yù qíng, Què dé shùnfēng láizhé yuàn. Ruò shǐ rénrén dǎo zhé suì, Zàowù yīng xū rì qiān biàn. Jīn wǒ shēnshì liǎng yōuyōu, Qù wǔ suǒ zhú lái wú liàn. Dé xíng gù yuàn liú bú è, Měi dào yǒu qiú shén yì juàn. Tuìzhī xiùyún sānbái chǐ, Dèngguān suǒ yíng jīn yǐ huàn. Bù xián súshì wū dān tī, Yí kàn yún shān rào huáidiàn.
