Moving (With An Introduction)

Su Shi 1036-1101 On the second day of the tenth month of the first year of Shaosheng(1094), I arrived in Huizhou and took up  residence in Hejiang Tower. On the eighteenth day of  that month, I moved to Jiayousi. On the nineteenth day  of the third month of the second year (of Shaosheng)  I moved again back to Hejiang Tower, and on the  twentieth day of the fourth month of the third year  I returned agian to Jiayousi. By that time, I had found  a place to build Baihe Feng; now that my new residence  is completed, I may be able to get some small measure of peace! The year before last I lived east of the river; Where one could look back at the fine evening light. Last year I lived west of the river; Where the light spring rain dampened one's face. West of east, it was not for me to choose. When my time at one place was up, I was moved on. This year I've been moved back again to the east: Back to my old quarters, where I can rest for a while. Now I've already bought some land on White Crane Peak, And made my plans for a spot to live out my years. The Yangtze lies at the northern entrance, And my "snow wave" stone dances on the stairway. The blue-green mountains fill my windows, Along with a few lovely tresses of cloud. I am ashamed that I am not like Baopuzi, Who left the world the way a cicada leaves his skin, Nor do I aspire to be like the sagely Liu of Liu-chou, At whose shrine people leave dishes of red lichee. In my lifetime I've never been allowed to stay put. Looking up and down, I finally understand this world. Instant after instant, natually forming kalpas, Dust particle after dust particle, each one a world. If you look donw from above at all living things, They are but gnats blowing each other about.

Qiānjū (Yǒu Yǐn)

Sū Shì 1036-1101 Wǔ Shàoshèng yuánnián shíyuè èrrì zhì Huìzhōu, yù Héjiāng Lóu, shì yuè shíbārì qiān yú Jiāyòusì. Èrnián sānyuè shíjiǔ rì fù qiān yú Héjiāng Lóu, sānnián sìyuè èrshí rìfù guī yú Jiāyòusì. Shí fāng bō zhù Báihè fēng zhīshàng, xīn jū chéng, shùjǐ shǎo ān hū. Qiánnián jiā shuǐ dōng, Huí shǒu xīyáng lì. Qùniàn jiā shuǐ xī, Shī miàn chūnyǔ xì. Dōng xī liǎng wú zé, Yuán jìn wǒ zé shì. Jīnnián fù dōng xí, Jiǔ guǎn liáo yí qì. Yǐ mǎi Báihè Fēng, Guī zuò zhōng lǎo jì. Chángjiāng zài běihù, Xuě làng wǔ wǔ qiè. Qīngshān mǎn qiáng tóu, Wǒduǒ jǐ yúnjī. Suī cán Bàopǔzǐ, Jīn dǐng lòu chán tuì. Yóu xián Liǔ Liǔzhōu, Miào zǔ jiàn dān lì. Wǔ shēng běn wú shì, Fǔyì liǎo cǐ shì. Niànniàn cǐ chéng jié, Chénchén gè yǒu jì. Xià guān shēngwù xì, Xiāng chuī děng wénruì.
