Sitting Alone In Jingting Mountain

Li Bai 699-762 Flocks of birds fly high and vanish; A single cloud, alone, calmly drifts on. Never tired of looking at each other-- Only the Jingting Mountain and me.

Dú Zuò Jìngtíngshān

Lǐ Bái 699-762 Zhòng niǎo gāo fēi jìn, Gū yún dú qù huán. Xiāng kàn liǎng bú yàn, Zhí yǒu Jìngtíngshān.

Notes: Li Bai lived for a time in Xuancheng, a two hour drive southwest of Maanshan in Anhui Province. Jingtingshan is in the outskirts of Xuancheng, with the ancient Guangjiao Temple at its foot.
