An Honored Guest Comes
|
Dù Fǔ 712-770
Secluded roost, the site remote--passers-by are few;
Old and sick, I lean on others--making bows is hard.
How could my ornate writings stir all within the seas?
Vain troubling your cart & horse to halt on my riverbank.
All day long detained, tarrying--the fine guest sits;
A whole lifetime of coarse husks--passé pedant's fare.
If you don't disdain my wild lands for meager sustenance,
Ride high spirits and come again to see my herb trellis.
