Cold moon through leafless limbs of 夔州 Kuizhou tree
Night (2)

Du Fu 712-770
Over sheer banks
the wind's might moves,
In my chill room
candle shadows shiver.
An alpine gibbon
lodges beyond the frost,
A river bird
flies deep into night.
I sit alone
draw near my heroic sword,
I sind sadly
sigh for my short robe.
Smoke and dust
whirl about Heavenly Gate,
A white beard
betrays my stalwart heart.

Jué àn fēng wēi dòng,
Hán fáng zhú yǐng wēi.
Lǐng yuán shuāng wài sù,
Jiāng niǎo yèshēn fēi.
Dúzuò qīn xióngjiàn,
Āigē tàn duǎn yī.
Yānchén rào chānghé,
Bái shōu zhuàng wéixīn.
