Located adjacent to the Damingsi in Yangzhou. It was built by Ouyang Xiu, the great Northern Song official, in 1048, when he was govenor of Yangzhou. in those days it was said that all the mountains of Jiangnan bent down before it. When i visited in late October, 2006, the smog was so thick I could hardly see Slender West Lake 100 meters below the pavillion!
