This 26.7 meter tall pagoda stands in the grounds of the former 圓覺寺 Yuanjuesi, in the town of 渾源城 Hunyuancheng in northern Shanxi Province. It is about 100 meters from the large 永安寺 Longansi. It was built in 1158 by a monk named 玄真 Xuánzhēn, Black Jade.

The base of the pagoda is covered with delightful carvings of animals and apsaras playing instruments and dancing. This image is of an apsara playing the qin.
