In 1993 the Yangpu Daqiao spanned the Huangou river connecting the Yangpu District in the west and the Pudong District on the east side of the river. It is an automobile bridge, but has elevators at each end to carry walkers 10 floors up to the roadway. One can then walk over the bridge on a sidewalk and take in the panoramic view of the Huangpu river and Shanghai.
