View down river towards Dunhuang, taken in Danghe adjascent to the 西千佛洞, West Thousand Buddha Caves.

The 黨河Dǎnghé, Dang River originates in the run off from the snow and glacier capped Qilian Mountains, far to the south of Dunhuang, on the border between Gansu and Qinghai provinces. Essentially it ends at Dunhuang where it vanishes into the sands of the Gobi Desert.
