Large winding river in Guangxi that flows through the city of Liuzhou, a favorite exile town in the Tang and later dynasties. The Tang poet and official 柳宗元 Liu Zhongyuan 773-819 was exiled and died here. This photo taken from the 文書塔 Wenshuta, Wenshu Pagoda on 蟠龍山 Panlongshan. The city of 柳州 Liuzhou can be seen on the far side of the river.
