The river flowing through Manila emptying into Manila Bay. Chinese pirates attacked Fort Santiago, located near the mouth of the Pasig River, in the years 1574 and 1575. The Spanish eventually drove the pirates out, but not after bloody battles during which much of Fort Santiago was destroyed.
