A city dominated by the Maharajas of Mysore until independence in 1947. The main palace of the maharajas dwarfs the city's common homes, and his besso, 別墅, villas, which are also palaces are now 5 star hotels. Why on earth these arogant maharajas would feel the need for separate country homes, 5 to 7 km from their monsterous main abode, is incomprehensible to more common folk.
