In a separate nave to the right of the altar in the Basilica Of Bom Jesus. The mumified body of this man Francis rests on it's back high up in a glass crypt. Formerly his body was displayed in public. Faithful came to worship and kiss his feet. However they became too unruly. Someone remove one arm and carried it back to Rome. And it is said that the final ignimony was when one pilgrim bit off one of Xavier's toes. (Served the sinner right.) So today one must worship his remains high up out of reach in a glass casket.
